COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this course is to provide all public safety professionals, sworn and professional staff, with the leadership knowledge necessary to build and lead strong teams. Leadership is influence and collaboration working together to achieve a positive and desired outcome, while at the same time creating an atmosphere of feeling valued, trusted, and significant. Everyone possesses the potential to excel, they just need the environment to grow free of unbiased barriers. Elevating one’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral competency is essential to gaining reverent leadership within your organization; therefore, personal responsibility must be at the forefront of building a strong team. Some of the philosophies and concepts outlined in this course will delve into Introspection and Perspective, Leadership Characteristics, Transformational Leadership, Emotional, Social, Conversational, and Cultural Intelligence and how each serve as an important foundation to develop trust and respect among peers, subordinates, superiors, and the public.
